Open-sourced process

🚀

Dutch Design Week

📍

TU/e Campus

An open-sourced design process to create solutions that really care for our caregivers.

Will you join us in our mission?

During the process we hope to host as many caregivers (and their managers) as possible to extract their opinions, hopes and dreams and create solutions that really care for them. Caregivers have been under immense pressure for quite some time, but ultimately due to the COVID-19 pandemic have gained increasing recognition and exposure. As we were all clapping for our caregivers, we felt like we needed to take action. Will you join us in our mission? There are several moments in the process in which your voice can have a huge impact. You can sign up or pick a timeslot.

You can visit us any time between 11.00 and 17.00 at the TU/e campus.

Did you know that...?

👨🏽‍⚕️👩‍⚕️

The care sector in the Netherlands has more than 1.2 million doctors, nurses and caregivers.

🚑

Healthcare is one of the top 5 industries for vulnerability to work-related diseases.

😷

54% of people working in healthcare experience extra stress due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

😵‍💫

42% of work-related diseases are related to over-stress or burnout, especially in the care sector.

Why are we Drivers of Change?

The project started out as an initial idea that was raised during the Global Goals Jam of 2020 in Eindhoven. This is an event that is created around designing for the UN Sustainable Development goals and it is especially a result of goal no. 3 – ‘Good health and Wellbeing’. We started wondering, if we ever want good health and wellbeing, shouldn’t we take care of those who provide this first!?

This is how the organization and design collective ‘Who Cares’ was born. Behind the scenes, Chiara Treglia, Joost Liebregts and Jim Steenbakkers started to work on this project, with the support of TU/e and gemeente Eindhoven. The next step for is us was to involve stakeholders and therefore we joined forces with Dutch Design Week ’21.
